book onlineWhat is cosmetic dentistry?
Cosmetic dentistry is a specialized field that improves the aesthetics of your smile and the alignment of your teeth. A few of the most common procedures in this type of dentistry are:
- Veneers
- Teeth whitening
- Inlays/Onlays
- Bonding
- Dental implants
While most cosmetic procedures are considered elective and are not covered by general dental insurance, certain procedures like dental implants may be used in restorative dentistry. This allows for coverage when they’re part of the treatment plan. Dr. Brian can help you choose which cosmetic procedures would benefit you the most.
What are the benefits of veneers?
Veneers are shaped to match the front, and sometimes the back, of your teeth. Veneers are especially beneficial if you have chipped or broken a tooth. Veneers can correct minor imperfections such as gaps, discolorations, and abnormally shaped or sized teeth.
Veneers offer permanent results. If a veneer chips or breaks, Dr. Brian applies a new one in its place, restoring your flawless smile.
How are veneers applied to the teeth?
Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that are carefully designed to resemble the shape of your original tooth. In order for a veneer to bond sufficiently, Dr.LaBombard must first remove the delicate layer of tooth enamel.
Once he has removed the enamel, Dr. LaBombard applies a bonding agent to the surface of your tooth. He then puts the veneer in place and allows the adhesive to cure. Once the curing process is complete, the veneer is firmly and permanently attached to the surface of your tooth.
